Bluebells

Bluebell woods are one of the nicest woodland views of the spring. I'm lucky enough to get to see them daily where I live so I hope you enjoy some of the photos if taken of them. these photos have been taken on a mixture of cameras over the years.

Wings and Wheels 2014

This was my first attempt at aviation photography and luckily for me, the Dunsfold's Wings and Wheels event happens just a few miles away every August Bank Holiday. All of these where taken on my Fuji S4200 which I was using all day from 10:00 till 19:00.

These planes are of course the iconic Red Arrows, making a pass in the Concorde Formation.

This group of the planes is the Blades Stunt team doing there own signature move.

These two photos are of the Wing Walkers who as you can see have women who perform tricks as they fly.

This display was a favourite of mine. As both of these planes are iconic planes for the Allied forces in WW2. The closer, silver plane is the American Mustang Fighter Jet, and the other plane is the Supermarine Spitfire, and hero of the Battle of Britain and arguably the best fighter plane of the war.

This is the WW2 Memorial group on one of there fly pasts, I was lucky enough the see the last two flying Lancaster Bomber that day too. I shall try and sort a photo out to join this group.

Sadly this plane is no longer flying as it did it last flight last year, as you may have guessed it the hugely popular Vulcan.

Both of these of the Red Arrows again. The first one was one of my favourite photos from the event as it offer a more unique perspective from the more conventional photo below.

and lastly we have the Blades again doing another of there fly pasted in close formation.

If you enjoyed these photos and want to got to get a real taste for the event here is the Wings and Wheels website the planes do change year on year but you do also have a large number that stay the same.  http://www.wingsandwheels.net/

Port Merion

Port Merion - North Wales

I took these photos on a trip to North Wales in 2012. Port Merion famous for a TV series filmed there in the sixties called 'The Prisoner', as well as its pottery. These are just a few of my favourite photos, hope you enjoy, they were all taken on a Kodak Bridge camera.

Penmon Priory

Penmon Priory and Lighthouse are found of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, as you can see they have a stunning back drop across the Menai straits back to welsh mainland and Snowdonia national park. All of these photo were taken on a Kodak bridge camera.

I'm particularly pleased with how this photo turned out, I have done some editing with the effect on it but I think I almost prefer it to the original.

This is Penmon Lighthouse and Puffin Island. Puffin Island is a protected island and does indeed have a large colony of Puffins.

These two cottages were originally built for the lighthouse keepers. I like the light in this photo and think it adds to the photo.

This photo really shows the stunning landscape and back drop this priory is sat in. this photo is one that I went hunting for, I saw a similar picture taken from the same side of the church when we were looking round the church. I thought I would try and create my own version I actually stitched this photo together from two pictures.

St Seiriol's Well. This well was meant to heal any injuries you had suffered just by washing in the water. Ithought the little building that was built around it was very photogenic.

The Menai Bridge. One of two bridges to get on and off the island.

Tour of Britain 2014

Cycling - Tour of Britain

As sport and cycling fan watching the Tour of Britain is great for me as you get to see a number of big cycling start racing past through your local area. If you want to go and watch or even take photos yourself I shall put a link at the bottom to the Tour of Britain website.

Giant Shimano rider - Marcel Kittel in the peloton

Mark Cavendish, Mark Renshaw and Nicolas Roche.

This was the five man breakaway that day. The man at the front in blue is Dutch rider, Dylan van Baarle who ended up overall winner of the tour this year.

And finally here is Sir Bradley Wiggins. I know its not a great photo but I took this on burst and didn't realise I had a photo of him till I looked on the computer.

As mentioned at the top here is the link for the Tour of Britain website, the route changes every year so you never know it might be going past your door.   http://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/

Taken on a Kodak Bridge Camera at Goodwood Festival of Speed. This turned out to be one of my favourite photos of the weekend. I like the sense of speed and quickness of the car in this photo.
